The PBB has a new wing for the youth
KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will amend the party’s constitution to create a new wing for youths aged 18 to 28.
PBB president and Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the establishment of the wing was made to provide an opportunity for the group to work together to serve the well-being of Sarawak.
“Currently, the UN has a women’s and youth wing … now we will create a wing for youths aged 18 to 28. We created this wing because we want them to manage the community with us.
“The UN is a dynamic party, we also listen to the aspirations of the young and we will adapt to the current political situation,” he told reporters after chairing the UN Supreme Working Council Meeting here last night.
Abang Johari said the constitutional amendment would be done at the party’s Triennial General Meeting (TGM) scheduled to be held next June.
“Right now we have set up a committee to study the proposal to set up the wing and we will amend the constitution at TGM later,” he said.
