Venezuela and Spain lay the foundation to boost oil production

CARACAS, Dec 19 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The president of the state company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa), Rafael Tellechea, stated that with the signing of an agreement with the Spanish oil company Repsol they laid the foundations to promote the Petroquiriquire mixed company.

Both companies signed a framework agreement Monday with seven annexes, which will contribute to increase hydrocarbon production in the South American nation, which in recent years was affected by more than 900 unilateral coercive measures, harshly reducing its income.

Pdvsa indicated on the same social network that this instrument “seeks to establish the foundations” that will allow improving the execution of Petroquiriquire activities, among other aspects of interest for both parties.

He indicated that this mixed entity is made up of 60 percent with funds from the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation and the rest corresponds to the Spanish company.

The general director of Exploration and Production of Repsol, Francisco Gea, predicted the pact will be of mutual benefit for both companies and countries, expressing that it is the continuation of the commitment to Venezuela, not only with the industry, but also with society.

This agreement boosts the industry, society and the relationship between Repsol and PDVSA, between Spain and Venezuela, he stressed.
