World Cup 2022: The final phase of ticket sales begins today
DOHA: The final phase of ticket sales for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will begin on Sept 27 at 12pm Doha local time (5pm Malaysia time).
Tickets can be purchased at FIFA.com/tickets on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. This sales phase will last until the end of the tournament, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
It reports that despite receiving high demand and initial inventory expecting tickets to sell out quickly, fans should check FIFA.com/tickets regularly for additional ticket sales and ticket resales, which will be launched in the near future.
Tickets for each match will be available in all four price categories, with category 4 tickets reserved for Qatari residents. Customers can purchase a maximum of six tickets per match and 60 tickets for the entire tournament.
FIFA encourages people with disabilities and people with limited mobility to make online purchases from the same platform by choosing the Special Admission Ticket category.
All tickets for the general public are mobile. In October, FIFA will release a dedicated ticketing application that customers will need to download. Purchased tickets will then be uploaded to this application and will be activated when fans enter the stadium.
In addition to the ticket application, all local and international fans must apply for a digital Hayya (Fan ID), which is an entry permit for the State of Qatar.
To apply for a digital Hayya and to book accommodation, fans can visit Qatar2022.qa or download the Hayya to Qatar 2022 app (available on iOS and Android), the report added.
Last August, FIFA announced that 2.45 million tickets for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar had been sold. Fans from Qatar, the US, England, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, the UAE, France, Argentina, Brazil and Germany topped the list of recipients of the most tickets for the World Cup.
