Central Phuket Celebrates Six Years of Success with Major Expansion to Cement Its Place as a Global Luxury Destination

Bangkok, January 17, 2025 / — Central Phuket Mall marks a significant milestone as it celebrates the 6th anniversary of its Floresta zone with a THB 1 billion investment to expand its luxury offerings. This expansion aims to solidify Phuket’s reputation as a premier global luxury destination, catering to the growing demand from high-spending shoppers and international tourists.

Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Marketing Manager of Central Pattana Plc, emphasized Phuket’s growing status as a luxury hotspot, comparing it to renowned destinations like Hawaii, Monaco, Santorini, and Miami. With tourism revenue in Phuket projected to reach THB 500 billion by 2024 — a 28% growth from the previous year — the island continues to attract affluent travelers. The average tourist expenditure is also on the rise, with visitors spending an average of THB 34,336 per trip.

As part of its expansion, Central Phuket is enlarging the Floresta zone from 180,000 to 200,000 square meters and increasing its roster of luxury brands from 16 to 25. Prestigious names such as Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Bulgari, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, and Louis Vuitton are already present, with new developments including:

*Louis Vuitton: Southern Thailand’s largest store expansion
*Prada: The largest store in Thailand, spanning 597 square meters
*Tiffany & Co.: A flagship store
*Bulgari: A pop-up store near Bangkok
*Céline: Newly opened in December 2024

In addition, the expansion introduces Lululemon, the first store outside Bangkok, and a new ZARA flagship store, the largest in Southeast Asia at 1,800 square meters.

With daily visitors currently at 80,000, Central Phuket expects this figure to rise to 100,000 after the expansion, with 70% of the visitors coming from abroad. Notably, tourists from Russia, China, the U.S., and Singapore are among the most frequent visitors. The shopping mall also sees a significantly higher spending rate from its members, who spend five times more than customers at other malls.

Phuket’s luxury appeal is further strengthened by the expansion of its international airport, which now accommodates 18 million passengers, including a new 5-star private jet terminal capable of handling 156 private jets annually. The island also boasts over 15 luxury brands, world-class dining experiences (including the world-renowned Su Va Na underwater restaurant), five superyacht marinas, 28 Michelin-starred restaurants, 16 world-class golf courses, nine top hospitals, and 13 international schools.

To celebrate its anniversary, Central Phuket is launching the “LIVE. LUXE. LOVE.” campaign, featuring exclusive promotions, including:

*A THB 8 million VIP trip to Finland for top spenders to experience the Northern Lights
*Core Member Privileges: E-vouchers worth up to THB 6,000 and up to 17% cashback with participating credit cards

With its continued growth and luxury offerings, Central Phuket remains a key player in elevating the island’s status as a global luxury destination.
