Pakistan Sets Global Precedent in Digital Economy, Launches First-Ever DFDI Forum
ISLAMABAD – May 8, 2025 – Pakistan has solidified its role as a pioneer in digital economic leadership, hosting the inaugural Digital Foreign Direct Investment Forum (DFDI) in collaboration with the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO). As the first country to execute the initiative across all four strategic pillars, Pakistan is positioning itself as a model for digital transformation among emerging nations.
Speaking at the close of the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the country’s vision for inclusive, tech-driven development. “We are not just building a digital economy—we’re building a new global blueprint,” he said, crediting DCO Secretary General Deemah Al Yahya for her pivotal role in advancing Pakistan’s digital investment ecosystem.
The forum featured high-level participation from over 45 countries, 40 international tech firms, and key speakers who echoed a shared commitment to leveraging digital innovation for economic empowerment. With the DCO presidency approaching in 2026, Pakistan now stands at the forefront of global digital investment discourse.
