Global recognition for sustainable innovation
The Forbes China study focused on the integration of ESG principles into core business operations, strategies and models. Out of nearly five hundred actively reported cases, only ten were selected as representative inspirations. Forbes emphasizes that successful organizations view ESG not only as a business cost but also as an integral part of their strategic operations. SANY Group has distinguished itself in this regard by transforming its business strategy to include ESG practices as key operational elements rather than as a cost factor.
SANY Group’s Lighthouse Factory: A Global Manufacturing Benchmark
In 2023, SANY Group launched its pioneering overseas Lighthouse Factory in Indonesia, equipped with full network connectivity and automated production capabilities. As the first such facility outside China, operating within the country’s engineering machinery sector, which sets international standards for smart manufacturing, the factory has a comprehensive intelligent systems architecture, including production operation systems and automated material supply systems.

As of October 2024, SANY Heavy Industry has completed the construction of 33 fully operational digital factories. The company’s industrial IoT platform currently supports real-time internet connectivity for 18,000 devices and 51,000 cameras, integrating mass data collection, aggregation, analysis through modeling to achieve digital twins that improve quality while reducing costs. As part of continuous efforts, in 2023 alone, energy-saving projects implemented during operational activities saved more than RMB 100 million in energy costs.
