VietJet’s Founder Strengthens Strategic Ties with U.S. Partners During Visit

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Jan. 17, 2025 / — VietJet’s senior leadership team visited the United States from January 9 to 11, 2025, meeting with key strategic partners at the “Friends of Vietnam Summit” held in Palm Beach, Florida.

The delegation arrived in Miami aboard VietJet’s inaugural flight to the U.S., named “Hello America!” This wide-body aircraft journey marks a significant milestone for the airline, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening partnerships and cooperation with the United States.

VietJet has become a key player in fostering U.S.-Vietnam economic collaboration, generating job opportunities for American workers through its extensive trade relationships. The airline has secured agreements worth nearly USD50 billion with industry leaders like Boeing, GE, CFM, Pratt & Whitney, and Honeywell. Negotiations for additional deals, totaling approximately USD14 billion, are currently underway. VietJet also collaborates with major tech giants, including Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Apple, and Google. Discussions with SpaceX and other internet solution providers are ongoing to support the airline’s growing fleet, while also advancing innovation in fields such as AI, semiconductor technology, blockchain, and big data.

Madame Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, the founder of VietJet, emphasized, “Our strategic partnerships in the U.S. reflect our strong commitment to building the economic bridge between our two nations. VietJet’s growth not only creates jobs for American workers and promotes technological progress but also contributes to Vietnam’s economic development.”

In 2017, during an official visit to Vietnam, former President Donald Trump witnessed the signing of VietJet’s agreement for 100 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. At his suggestion to increase the order, VietJet expanded it to 200 aircraft. In 2025, Boeing will begin delivering the first 14 of these aircraft to VietJet.

As the airline enters a new phase of growth, VietJet continues to offer affordable fares and quality services, while fostering connections between cultures and driving global business opportunities.
