Wego and Thailand Tourism Authority Launch Campaign to Boost Travel from MENA Region

DUBAI, May 8, 2025 – In a bid to rekindle Middle Eastern interest in Thailand, Wego, the MENA region’s top online travel marketplace, has teamed up with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to launch a new campaign celebrating the Southeast Asian destination’s rich cultural and lifestyle offerings.

Focused on storytelling and exploration, the campaign will spotlight lesser-known Thai destinations, spiritual retreats, and sustainable travel opportunities—catering to the tastes of millennial travelers and families across the GCC.

“Thailand is undergoing a travel renaissance,” said Wego’s Mamoun Hmidan, citing everything from food trails in Bangkok to healing sanctuaries in Chiang Mai.

“We’re excited to bring these stories to life for Arabic-speaking audiences.”

Digital campaigns will be rolled out across Wego’s platforms, offering authentic travel inspiration, exclusive deals, and itinerary ideas tailored for Muslim travelers and those seeking personalized travel.

TAT Dubai’s Ahman Mad-adam said the initiative aligns with Thailand’s broader tourism goals in 2025, promoting inclusive and culturally sensitive experiences.

Thailand continues to attract MENA visitors with visa-friendly entry, halal services, and a deep commitment to hospitality.
