KDN encourages citizenship briefings to be held together with JPN

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) encourages any briefing related to issues, processes and citizenship applications to be held with the involvement of the National Registration Department (JPN).

The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) in a verbal response on the Parliament’s website today stated that it is to ensure that the matter to be conveyed has legitimacy and trust.

“It is also to answer any questions more quickly and accurately.

“The ministry would also like to clarify that any application for Malaysian citizenship cannot be accepted by any party other than the NRD and applications can only be made at the department’s counter in the presence of the applicant,” according to KDN.

The clarification was in response to a question from Senator Musodak Ahmad who was curious about the monitoring and enforcement of the citizenship briefing and information program organized by some elected representatives.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Unity (KPN) supports the proposal expressed by Senator Manolan Mohamad in creating a clause related to unity in the constitution of every political party in the country.

“The KPN strongly encourages all political parties to do so in order to be good examples and role models in the landscape of national unity.

“Among the findings through the Social Deficit Discourse Program held by the ministry is the production of the Political Leadership Measurement Index,” according to the ministry in a verbal response on the Parliament website today.

KPN also informed that the index can measure the level of leadership of politicians who are characterized by the face of unity and are directly assessed by the people.

“The cooperation and agreement of every political party in Malaysia is highly demanded to ensure peace, harmony and unity continue to be preserved,” according to the ministry in response to Senator Manolan Mohamad’s question.

He wanted to know the measures implemented to sow unity among the people, especially through the role of political parties and the relevance of requiring each political party to include a unity clause in their constitution.
