KUCHING (Jan 17): Nine-year-old Dion Das Louis, affectionately known as the ‘Little Bornean Birdie,’ has been selected to represent Malaysia at the Dance World Cup Finals in Burgos, Spain, scheduled to take place from July 3 to 12.

The young talent earned his spot on the global stage after winning the Dance World Cup Malaysia Qualifier in the Mini Solo National and Folklore categories, held earlier today at the Sabah Culture and Arts Department.

In addition to this achievement, Dion clinched the prestigious Best Solo Mini title during the competition, further solidifying his position as one of Malaysia’s brightest young dancers.

“Winning this qualifies Dion to represent Malaysia at the Dance World Cup Finals in Burgos, Spain, in July this year,” his proud mother, Edina Lanying, told The Borneo Post.

Dion’s remarkable achievements have not only brought pride to his family but also highlighted the immense talent emerging from Sarawak.

As the countdown to the international event begins, all eyes will be on this promising young star as he prepares to showcase his skills on the world stage.
