The Tech Council of Australia Submission on Safe and Responsible AI

The Tech Council of Australia have today published their submission on Safe and Responsible AI. It outlines the sizeable economic benefits and opportunities for Australia and presents their position on using existing extensive laws and governance frameworks that can help risks in AI.

The submission outlines 5 key pillars:

1. Develop a regulatory strategy for AI
2. Stand up an expert AI coordination made to uplift regulator capability
3. Deliver better guidance and enforcement of existing laws
4. Targeted review and reform to ensure our laws are fit for the digital age
5. Build Australia’s AI skills, workforce, literacy and industry capabilities.

The submission also includes 13 key recommendations for consideration.
